University Arms, Cambridge (a Marriott Autograph Collection hotel) is currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Human Resources Manager to help build on it’s fantastically received re-opening in Summer 2018.


The newly re-launched hotel consists of 192 design-led bedrooms, complemented by Parker’s Tavern, a high-end, quintessentially British restaurant & bar by award winning local chef-restaurateur Tristan Welch, along with the adjoining library, bar and ballroom.

Set in the heart of Cambridge, University Arms is already becoming the ‘go to’ destination, alluring visitors with the promise of a sense of modern luxury, adorned with moments of enchanting discovery.

You are likely to be a skilled HR Manager with experience gained in a high-quality hotel/ restaurant environment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Advising & coaching the department heads in the recruitment & development of their teams in order to maintain motivation and commitment
• Attending Heads of Department meetings to update on progress of the HR Strategy and present forthcoming initiative
• Facilitating performance management issues such as disciplinaries & grievances by supporting the managers through the relevant processes
• Coordinate the annual engagement survey process and develop action plans based on the results
• Lead the production of the annual training plan using e-learning, internal & external resources. Deliver some training (e.g. induction) where required
• Lisaising with Finance and other departments to produce accurate information for payroll
• Interact positively with the team members presenting the department as approachable & supportive
• Supervise the HR Assistant in helping to achieve all of the above

As well as relevant experience, you will ideally be CIPD qualified, self-confident and a good communicator.
