Hotel Operations manager

Hilton St Anne’s Manor in Wokingham is looking for a Full-Time Operations Manager to join us. We are just about to start an exciting time as a major refurbishment is just around the corner.

Hilton St Anne’s Manor has 170 bedrooms, excellent conference and wedding facilities and a busy leisure club. This is a fast-paced operation, offering restaurant, bar and private functions. The hotel has a selection of 8 meeting and conference rooms with space for up 250 guests, plus 26 acres of beautiful gardens/ outside space. It is all about attention to detail in this quality environment which is the key implementation to customer service and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

What will I be doing?

As an Operations Manager you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards;

• Take accountability for all hotel operations in the absence of the General Manager.
• To develop a cohesive and trained team who are able to provide superior guest service and maximize revenue
• To ensure accommodation business targets for revenue, occupancy and profit achieve or exceed the hotel budget working with the sales team
• To develop the hotel business through proactive selling activities and the effective conversion of all suitable enquiries
• To be aware of the overall hotel objectives, how they relate to you and the team and how your daily activities contribute to the success of the hotel against the business drivers of People, Quality & Profit, the hotel and business vision
• To be aware of all local events, all local competitors and to ensure that our hotel operation and the product remains the market leader
• Manage and maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, employees and hotel assets by maintaining the hotel safety policies and procedures
• To be responsible for all operational departments of the hotel (except kitchen) and to be multi-skilled in dealing with these and other areas as required
• To ensure that the quality, range and service of food and beverage is high to ensure maximum revenue is achieved and has a positive impact on customer retention
• To be fully conversant in working areas of the hotel and able to operate all the hotel systems and move practices forward as the business evolves and develops
• Manage the day-to-day operation of all hotel operational departments
• To maximize revenue and to ensure superior service and product quality are maintained
• To perform stocktaking and reporting functions and analyse the results
• Ensure compliance with regard to food hygiene and hotel food and beverage systems in line with the company Food Policy & current legislation
• Ensure the completion of the shift handovers and shift checklists
• To be a visible point of contact for hotel guests and visitors
• To take control of any event in a crisis
• Ensure achievement of budgeted profitability and occupancy of all operational departments
• Utilize personnel between all outlets to minimize payroll expenditure and ensure the flexibility of the team and optimize staff stability
