Position: F&B Manager
Reporting to: Operations Manager

The former Oxford Abingdon Hotel is currently undergoing a comprehensive redevelopment, increasing the number of guest rooms by over 100% through a new four-story extension. The hotel will become the Hilton Garden Inn, Abingdon and will be fully open by early 2019. The new extension will include a lounge bar, restaurant, function rooms and fitness centre. The existing hotel is open throughout the extension works, and current bedrooms will be fully renovated.

We are now recruiting on behalf of the hotel owners for a full time Food & Beverage Manager to join the relaunch team. The Food & Beverage Manager will work closely with the Operations Manager and General Manager as part of the opening/relaunch team.

The main purpose of the role is to take control and responsibility for the smooth and efficient operation of the food & beverage operations departments:

Ensuring facilities are maintained to the standards required and the departmental budgeted profitability is achieved and to develop a cohesive and trained team who are able to provide superior guest service and maximise revenue.

About the role:

We are looking for an F&B Manager with a passion for great food and delivering exceptional customer service who wants to enhance their skills, develop their management capabilities and contribute to our ongoing growth. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be crucial to the success of this exciting venture.

What I will be doing?

• Leading and managing all restaurant staff;
• Managing Service, including Set Up of restaurant - ensuring that service & physical presentation standards and FOH Staff product knowledge are delivered effectively;
• To ensure the food and service delivered to the highest of expectations and if not an ability to rectify in a way that guests feel satisfied;
• To demonstrate in depth knowledge of both the food and beverage menu with an ability to impart this knowledge to the whole team;
• Deliver results and grow sales;
• Orders / Deliveries / Storage of stock;
• Ensuring restaurant is kept clean to company standards;
• Overseeing Food Safety and H&R requirements to company standards;
• Training of staff to a structured training programme;
• Cash management;
• To work with the Operations Manager in the processing of the weekly payroll ensuring it is accurate and meets the required timeframes.

Qualifications Required:

• Minimum 2-3 years Front of House supervisory experience, including C&E.
