OUR STORY
University Arms Cambridge re-opened in summer 2018 after a 3 year redevelopment at the hands of renowned Architect John Simpson and Interior Designer Martin Brudnizki.

The newly re-launched hotel consists of 192 design-led bedrooms, complemented by Parker’s Tavern, a high-end, quintessentially British restaurant & bar by award winning local chef-restaurateur Tristan Welch, along with the adjoining library, bar and ballroom. Set in the heart of Cambridge, University Arms is already becoming the ‘go to’ destination, alluring visitors with the promise of a sense of modern luxury, adorned with moments of enchanting discovery.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We are now seeking a self-motivated, creative and detail focussed individual who has experience of managing the operation of a range of events from banquets, weddings & corporate meetings in an iconic venue.

You will take ownership of our 200 seat ballroom and events spaces overseeing a smooth journey from event enquiry to execution and overall ensuring a memorable experience for al of our guests.

Your focus will be on the operational aspects of each event, including:

· Liaising with the Events Sales team to understand guest requirements

· Providing clear planning and instructions to all departments contributing to the success of the events

· Planning staff requirements and leading the team through the execution of events

· Ensuring the correct set-up of each event space on a daily basis, mostly on a hands-on basis

· Liaising with party leaders during and after events to ensure guest satisfaction

· Helping to develop team member skills and create a pool of well-trained events staff

In addition, you will actively participate in the setting of the events strategy as the hotel evolves during its first year of opening.

Key skills and experience:

· Solid experience of running successful events

· Detail-oriented with demonstrated track record of follow through and delivery.

· A desire to create memorable experiences

· Effective communicator, positive and self-confident

· Flexibility to attend key functions in the evenings and at weekends
